The Farm

Gypsy Sally's Produce Palace is a 3-acre farm specializing in open pollinated and heirloom vegetable, flowers, and herbs. All produce is sold locally, at the Walla Walla Farmer’s Market, to restaurants, and through a subscription service called a Community Supported Agriculture program. (click for PDF brochure)

At Gypsy Sally’s Produce Palace, how we interact with the earth is very important. A variety of techniques are employed, such as cover cropping, the planting of beneficial insect habitat, a low tillage permanent bed system, crop rotation, companion planting, and the use of compost and animal manures to help build soil fertility and create a healthy farm ecosystem. Much of the work is accomplished via human power with the goal of using the tractor and petroleum powered devices as little as possible. We do not apply any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides and are in the process of becoming "Certified Naturally Grown". www.naturallygrown.org

The Farmer

For the better part of the last six years, Amity Priore has spent time working on small organic farms in several locations in the US, and in India, Cuba, and Central America. Through her travels she developed her love of farming, particularly while learning various traditional agricultural practices abroad. Gypsy Sally's Produce Palace is Amity’s first solo farming adventure. She is excited to finally put down some roots and draw upon all her experience and observations she gained over the years from her travels. Amity lives happily in a yurt on the edge of Mill Creek.
